The Station by The GwaK Book Blitz

We know that we could all use a little bit of humor in our lives right now! So be sure to check out The Station, a humorous memoir by The GwaK.

Memoirs / Humor

Date Published: August 15, 2025

The Station is an extraordinary true story—an elegy of childhood alienation, social dysfunction, and psychological terrorism. Narrated by the foul-mouthed antihero himself, this filthy account will have you washing your hands with the turn of every page.

After being expelled from middle school, a young boy must find his way through the struggles of the working class. After not looking very far, he finds employment at a small gas station in a dangerous part of town. There, beyond pumping gas, slinging cigarettes, and wrestling with hoboes, he finds himself working for a man who has a fetish for mayhem. Falling prey to the influences of his surroundings, laughing hysterically, and cursing as if he invented it, the boy embarks on a journey into senseless chaos and the macabre. But just as he becomes confident of his abilities, he’s accused of a crime. And without support or witnesses to his character, he’s left waiting for his fate to unfold.

About the Author

The GwaK, author of the writing on the wall—the stall wall that is, an unfiltered, unrestricted, uncompromising voice of self-preservation. Born a bastard somewhere in the 1970’s at a high elevation, among a-holes gaslighting him into their slave fallacies, he’s unleashed himself upon the page. His work is derived from personal experience, bringing the macabre into focus with ruthless phraseology leaving his readers with pink eye. With that, The Station is the first volume in an upcoming series entitled Resumé of my Discontent. These memoirs of angst, strife, and hilarious introspection weave the author’s bio leaving no stone unturned and no wallet untapped.

Drive Down the Purchase Price of Your New Car by Dale E. Dallman

Buying a new car can be an absolute headache. I haven't done it in a while, but I know I will have to do so again. Dale E. Daliman is here today to give us some tips in his new book Drive Down the Purchase Price of Your New Car. I have an excerpt from the book, plus some bonus tips. Ask him your questions in the comments section and be sure to follow the tour for even more! Best of luck entering the giveaway at the end!

Buying a car. Just those three words can conjure up a whole swirl of emotions.

For some, it’s the thrill of a sleek new model—the scent of fresh upholstery and the promise of open roads. For others, it’s a daunting odyssey filled with jargon, pressure, and the fear of an expensive mistake.

Wherever you fall, you’re reading this because buying a car is a significant life event.

We’ve all stood on the lot, squinting at price tags, decoding financing offers, and feeling the push to “act now.” It’s easy to feel outmatched—to wish for an expert at your side. Consider this book that expert: your trusted co-pilot on a journey that’s both exciting and rewarding.

This isn’t just a checklist—it’s a philosophy. You’ll learn to approach car buying with clarity and confidence, understand financing, master the test drive, and negotiate with purpose, ensuring that you walk away feeling like a winner.

Whether you’re a first-time buyer, upgrading, or simply overwhelmed by options, this book is for you.

So, buckle up. Get ready to embark on a journey that will not only lead you to the perfect vehicle but will also leave you feeling empowered, informed, and ready to hit the road with a smile.

Happy driving!

Me, Mom & the Monster: Our Dance Through Huntington's Disease by Corinne Brown Book Blast and Giveaway

In the last couple of years, I have found myself reading more and more memoirs. I think they help us get a better picture of ourselves and to be more empathetic toward others. Dealing with something like Huntington's Disease seems unimaginable to me. This brave mother shares her story, along with her daughter's point of view, about how they are navigating this devastating neurological disease. Check out an excerpt and then feel free to have a conversation with the author in the comments section. Follow the tour for even more! Check out the great giveaway before you go!

"The results of your predictive testing are here, and they show that you did inherit the gene for Huntington's disease."

Those words, delivered by the neurologist to 57-year-old Mae Brown, forever changed her life and the lives of her family. Me, Mom & the Monster is a soul-stirring memoir that follows the path of this farming wife, businesswoman, mother and grandmother who lived a life with a monster of a disease. Interwoven with Mae's story is that of her third child, Corinne, whose life is intrinsically connected to her mother's diagnosis. Told from alternating voices of Corinne and her mother, this is a candid account of the harrowing effects of living with a fatal, genetic disease. Me, Mom & the Monster captures the authenticity and vulnerability of a mother and daughter who find themselves entwined in a long dance with a neurodegenerative disease.
