“Trevor, I’m alive, I’m alive, I’m alive.” I tried to whisper and hold back the excitement so I wouldn’t wake up everyone. “Jesus saved me. He’s actually real, man. Dude, and the best part about it is that my relationship with God has been restored because of Him.”“Come on, man, you’re still drunk, just go back to bed,” said Trevor.“No, I’m not drunk. This is the first time I can actually think straight. It’s the first time I feel worth anything and that I don’t have those competing thoughts anymore. He saved me, bro, and He can save you.” I lightly shook Trevor trying to keep him awake.“Okay, dude, good for you. Now let me sleep,” said Trevor as he rolled over, uninterested.I decided to go back to the bathroom and look into the mirror to still make sure I saw the new me, and I did. What I felt this night drove out every lie I had ever believed about myself, life, and God. I experienced tears of joy as I came to grips with how much God loved me. I couldn’t fathom how God could still love someone like me. I mean, I had cursed Him, mocked Him and professed my hate for Him, but yet for some reason He still loved me. I spent the rest of the night pouring out my heart before God. Then there came a moment where I finally felt my life had purpose.
