A Music Playlist for The Hotel [Series] by Michael James

Music is often inspirational. Today, author Michael James is telling us about the musical inspiration for his Hotel series. Read all about it as well as an excerpt from the first book, The End of Time. Be sure to follow the tour for even more and check out the great giveaway!

Series Blurb:

No one has ever escaped from the Hotel at the End of Time. Until now.

Vain only wants to be left alone, but the Hotel has other plans. Forces will align against her: a group of multi-dimensional felons collectively named The Wyatts; and their leader, Trick, a mild-to-medium psychopath with a fondness for impractical jokes.

The only way forward is to go back. Back to the one place in the world she swore she'd never return.

Back to the Hotel.

Blurb for: The Hotel at the End of Time:

Vain is the only person to ever escape from the Hotel at the end of time. On her way out, she took their prized possession: A Padlock that grants immortality.

They will do anything to get it back.

The forces of the Hotel are aligned against her: mundane items turned into weapons; a group of multi-dimensional felons collectively named The Wyatts; and their leader, Trick, a mild-to-medium psychopath with a fondness for impractical jokes.

Everything changes when Vain meets Emma, a timid grad student with impossible and terrifying powers. Together, they are propelled into an adventure that will see them battle the Wyatts, blow up several objects of significant value, and quite by accident, discover a way to stop the Hotel.

Even with Emma, Vain has a lot of problems to deal with.

She’s exhausted from being hunted.

Stopping the Hotel might kill them.

She has a hangnail.

But Vain is resourceful. Vain is clever.

And she always has a plan.

Read an excerpt:
“How is it for you?” Emma stood up and dusted herself off. “How do you do it?”

Vain tilted her head. “You know how when everyone tells you what to do, tries to get you to act in a certain way, but when their head is turned, you punch their dick into slush?”

“I do not. Not at all. I’m not even sure you’ve described a real thing.”

“Well, that’s what using the power is like to me. I channel that emotion.”

“If I ever encountered a culture where the emotion associated with genital-punching as a response to be being told what to do was so commonplace they needed a word for it, I would never, ever visit them.”

“Sweden must have a word for that. Aren’t they constantly incoherent with rage?”

Emma shook her head. “Without knowing one word of Swedish, I’m positive they do not have a specific word for that.”

“Meatball.”

“How is this helping me? You said you’d teach me how to use these powers.”

“I will,” said Vain. “Think of me as your own personal Yoda.”

“The tree frog from the Star Wars movies?

Blurb for: The Well at the Bottom of Everything:

Vain thought destroying the Portal to the Hotel at the End of Time would mean freedom for her and Roman, but her happy ever after is coming to an end.

A horrible mistake and a stray bullet force her to infiltrate the Hotel and contend with a new and terrible power: The Well at the Bottom of Everything.

Friendships will be tested. Loyalties will be broken.

The Hotel will have its revenge.

Music playlist for your book with explanations

The entire genesis for The Hotel series (The Hotel at the End of Time and The Well at the Bottom of Everything) was from a song called Hermila by Shout Out Louds. The opening section is what inspired the idea to write the book. It's where Vain, the main character, came from. This person who calculates every move and every step. The chorus talks about "When my heart stops, I'm letting you go, there'll be another one to follow you home" and this line sort of was the drive for the main plot. In chapter 1 of the first book, Vain is pushed off a roof (her heart stops) and then Roman needs to find another one (Emma) to follow him home.

I'm honestly not sure where the stuff about time Hotels and magic exploding Padlocks and endless, hilarious chapters came from, but for sure this song was the starting point of it all.

lyrics here:

So I calculate every move, every step
On the ice, beyond shades, on the sharpest of blades
So I calculate every move, every step
On the shadow in the light, on the last breath at night

But when my heart stops
I'm letting you go
There'll be another one,
To follow you home
When my heart stops
I'm making the call
To send another one,
I'll send another one

Michael James spent his formative years writing, and when he wasn't writing, he was writing. A mistaken belief that a "real" job would be more satisfying led him down a dark path that did not involve writing but did involve meetings. Fortunately, he has since course-corrected and is back on the right (write? Ha!) path. The Hotel at the End of Time is not his first book, but it is the one with the most Hotels in it.

He lives in Canada with his family. When he's not writing, he does Canadian things - saying sorry a lot, being polite, talking about the weather, you know how it goes.

Music Playlist for Fly Twice Backward by David S. McCracken

I love my music as much as I love to read. And I love it when authors are able to put the two together. What do you think of this list that David S. McCracken has put together for his book Fly Twice Backward? Let him know what you think in the comments. Follow the tour for more. And best of luck entering the giveaway!

You wake back in early adolescence, adult memories intact, including ones that could make you very wealthy now. Your birth family is here, alive again, but your later families are gone, perhaps forever. What has happened, what should you do about coming problems like violence, ignorance, pollution, and global warming? You realize one key connects most, the fundamentalist strains of all the major religions, disdaining science, equality, and social welfare. You see that there are some things you can change, some you can’t, and one you don’t dare to.

Fellow idealists help you spend your growing fortune well--such as an artistic Zoroastrian prince in the Iranian oil industry, a rising officer in the Soviet army working to find a way to destroy his corrupt government, a Bahai woman struggling against Islamic brutality, a Peruvian leader working for a liberal future, and a snake-handling Christian minister, grappling with doubts, sexuality, and destiny. They are supported by an ally who develops essential psychic powers. The group faces familiar-looking corrupt politicians, religious leaders, and corporate czars, but there is an ancient force in the background, promoting greed, violence, hate, and fear.

This exciting, emotional, thoughtful, humorous, and even romantic sci-fi novel weaves progressivism, music, movies, and literature into a struggle spanning the globe. Vivid characters propel the action back up through an alternative history toward an uncertain destination. Experience the unique story and its novel telling.

Read an excerpt:
When she gets home from school, Mom surprises me with a borrowed newspaper, El Mundo: “I thought you might want to catch up on Latin American news. You can read this OK, can’t you?”

Ah, a test. Thank goodness I’ve been brushing up scanning her upper-level texts. I take in her sly, wolfish grin, restrain one of my own, and say,” Oh, good here’s an article on the coming Venezuelan election, Mom. Have you read it?”

“Um, no, not yet.”

I proceed to summarize the article and mention that the junta had called the elections confident of solidifying their mandate. I go on to add they would lose—and turn power back over to the military. Who’d have thought that my Latin American studies focus would come in so handy, so long before I pursued it!

Mom slinks off to putter in the kitchen, but soon our doorbell rings. She seems to run to answer it.

“David, there’s a man here, Mr. Walker, I’d like you to talk with.” Looks like trouble.

“Oh, about what?” I ask.

“Well, just to get acquainted, for now,” Mom says. “Um, we’re thinking you might be able to use a special teacher.”

Walker is a serious-looking tall man of middle age, conservatively suited.

“Are you a math teacher? I’d love to learn advanced stuff, like algebra.”

“Oh, do you already know about it?”

“No, not past the name. Can you teach me algebra?”

Mom puts in, “Maybe history, David?”

“That’d be nice. I don’t know much, except some about the Second World War. I was amazed a friend of mine didn’t know who General Rommel was, though.”

“Mrs. McCracken, is there something in particular you have in mind?”

“Well, he says he came back from the future.”

“Mom, if I’d done that, I wouldn’t have been so surprised by this. You’re worrying me. You don’t want to do electroshock again, I know. You were really confused after the last time.”

“This is nonsense! I’ve never had electroshock.”

“Oh, Mom, are you back in that state? Don’t you remember? You denied it then, but . . . well, you know you wet your pants whenever you’d think about it. She was doing so well, Doctor . . ..”

Playlist for Fly Twice Backward

Do I ever have a playlist for you, and much more. Since my experience of the novel’s uniquely emotional events was often enhanced by the movies, music, reading, and poetry I love, when I put out a paperback version, I posted a list of live links on the book’s blog, https://flytwicebackward.blogspot.com/. The music is made available through Amazon Music, which lets you play practically any song ever recorded, inexpensively. There are also links for the other mentioned media.

I’ll mention just a few of the songs specifically.
  • “Try to Remember,” from The Fantastics, sets the mood of remembrance combined with fantasy.
  • “Any Dream Will Do”, from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, brings in the ongoing importance of dreams and imagination.
  • “Sunrise, Sunset,” from Fiddler on the Roof, emphasizes the importance of family and love in the novel.
  • “To Dream the Impossible Dream,” injects the hope and fear of the central quest.
  • “Another Opn’in, Another Show,” from Kiss Me, Kate supports the mood of starting over.
  • “I Still See Elisa,” from Paint Your Wagon, presents one character’s motivating longing over the years for Alessa, who felt obliged to leave him.
  • “Beyond the Sunrise,” from Marco Polo, expresses the longing for worlds unseen.
  • While you’re playing “Beyond the Sunrise”, go to the bottom of the list of tracks for “Epilogue” which isn’t in the story, but it could have been the epilogue to it, if I hadn’t needed a different epilogue. I wanted to use it.
  • “Let It Be a Dance (We Do)”, reflects an important part of the attitude of the story, with dancing often entering it.
  • “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever”, from the movie by that name, reflects another part of the attitude of the story, in a time travel context.

No wonder my book is long, a saga, as two reviewers called it!

David McCracken was born in Louisville, KY, in 1940. Raised mostly in Winchester, KY, he now lives in Northern Virginia, with his third and final wife. He has three children, two stepchildren, and six grandchildren.

After three years in the U.S. Navy following a lackluster academic start, he graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1963, in Diplomacy and International Commerce. He then worked as a Latin American country desk officer in the U.S. Department of Commerce until he returned to school to earn an M.A. in Elementary Education in 1970 from Murray State University, having always been intending to teach. Eventually realizing his children qualified for reduced-price lunches based on his own teaching salary, he studied computer programming at Northern Virginia Community College and worked as a programmer until shifting back into elementary teaching.

He began working on what became Fly Twice Backward in 1983 and finally finished it in 2019! At 79, David strongly doubts he'll be doing another novel of such scope and complexity, but is preparing to work on a children's science fiction novel with a progressive bent, being a devout progressive in politics and religion, as well as a lover of learning.

Kimberly Daniels' Music Playlist for Saved by You

Music and books are two of my favorite things. And luckily a lot of authors like to put the two together. Today, Kimberly Daniels is sharing her playlist for her new book Saved by You. Let her know what you think in the comments! You can also check out an excerpt from the book before you download your own copy and follow the rest of the tour. Be sure to also enter the giveaway!

********************************

Music playlist for Saved By You

  1. The Night We Met (Lord Huron)
  2. Runnin Home to You (Grant Gustin)
  3. Unsteady (X Ambassadors)
  4. Hear Me (Imagine Dragons)
  5. Broken (Seether, Amy Lee)
  6. Let’s Hurt Tonight (OneRepublic)
  7. Never Stop (SafetySuit)
  8. Unconditionally (Katy Perry)

This song list goes through the ups and downs that Cole is dealing throughout Saved by You. In the beginning he’s trying to remember when he met Camryn and how all he wants is to be with her with nothing holding him back. However, Cole falls apart becoming more unsteady and finally breaks due to the past that has never been resolved. Camryn never stops supporting Cole and truly loves him unconditionally.

Cole Stevens thought he was finally given a second chance in life. With the woman he always loved now by his side, an adopted son who felt like his own since the day he met him, and a baby on the way, Cole could finally see his forever. And then his past showed up on his doorstep, threatening to take it all away.

Now forced to relive painful memories and bring dark secrets to light, Cole begins a downward spiral that leads him back to the place he spent years trying to escape. As the pain of his past collides with the present, he finds himself lost again, fighting for his family's future. How can he find the way back in time for his forever to be saved?

Read an excerpt:
I let go of him and he falters back. Dusty wraps his arms around me to pull me back and Camryn is begging me to stop. Her voice registers, sinking through the fury that just consumed me, and my head snaps up realizing where I am. Camryn’s hands are over her mouth and I can see her fighting back tears. And that’s when I see him, my little superhero, crying and shaking at Camryn’s side. My sweet little boy, my Gavin—how could I let myself get to this point?

I reach out to him and he shudders back, sinking into Camryn even more. At that moment, my heart shatters, seeing that my son, the one I vowed to protect, is afraid of the menace I just became. My gaze travels to Camryn and I see the pain in her eyes, which I am sure I put there. “Take him home, away from me.”

She reaches her hand and grasps my wrist, pulling me with her. “Come home with us.”

I pull my hand away and begin to back away from them. “Take him home without me. Right now, he’s afraid…of me.” I can’t bear to stay here and look at what I did to Gav and Camryn, to see that the old Cole has never really left. I rush off the beach, away from my family, the ones I disappointed again with my thoughtless actions. I try to grasp the realization that I’m no longer the superhero Gavin once thought I was. Today, I became the villain.

Music Playlist for Presenting the Marriage of Kelli-Anne & Gerry Denemer by P.D. Alleva

Music is the soundtrack to our lives. We rely on it to help set the mood in movies and on TV shows. Soemtimes authors use it to help inspire the writing of a book, or find that certain songs just fit in well with their story. Today, author P.D. Alleva shares the music he associates with his book Presenting the Marriage of Kelli-Anne & Gerri Denemer, plus a sneak peek into some future works. Let him know what you think in the comments. Then follow the tour for more fun with this book and more chances to enter the giveaway.

*****************************

Music drives the emotion needed to deliver the message of the story. I call it getting into character. Presenting the Marriage required a deep trance of sadness, heartbreak, universal contemplation and ultimately inspiration. The songs listed below were the driving force behind the story. I could go a few days listening to just one song and switch it up as the story progressed. I don’t choose the songs before beginning to write, I believe they are already a part of it, usually finding their way in as I’m driving with the radio on or maintaining an open ear throughout the day. Sometimes it's just one line in the song that satisfies the emotion needed for a particular scene, sometimes it’s the instrumentals.

Nothing Compares To You (Chris Cornell acoustic version): Listed first for many reasons, most importantly Chris Cornell himself whose life ended tragically. In the book, Gerri hangs himself, but his suicide is prevented by a voice in his smart TV that opens a dimension where Gerri is forced to face his past. I’ve dealt a lot with suicide during my career as a psychotherapist and the impact felt by the people left behind to mourn their loss. The story takes this impact into account when Kelli is confronted by the future of her children. Also, the lyric “Where did I go wrong,” beautifuly belted out by Chris (and Sinead O’Connor in the original version of the song), was used in the story when Gerri is trying to get back into his house. Lyrics were written by Prince, another tragic story, so this song really rang through on multiple levels.

Purple Rain (Adam Levine @ Howard Stern Birthday Bash): Another Prince song and Adam Levine shows off his guitar prowess in this version. The book is about intimate relationships and undying love, and although the lyrics don’t 100% match the story, it’s the guitar solo that drove home the emotion.

Halleujah (all versions): I’ve listened to every version of this song probably 100 times each, gearing up for writing the ending and as the ending unfolded. Love is beautiful, the best of all human experience (my opinion at least), but there’s that other side to it, the heartbreak, loss and cold blood running through your veins when all you want is to be warm and joyful. But love is worth fighting for and the pain it causes is worth the horror. We find light in expressing love and discover beauty the world over when we’ve captured it in our palms. Love can deliver us from any darkness. I used the song’s title several times in the story, I hope I paid the song justice. “It’s not a cry that you hear at night, it’s not somebody who’s seen the light, it’s a cold and it’s a broken Halleujah!” Fantastic Lyric.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps (The Beatles): The original title for the book was “Gently Weeping.” I’m a huge Beatles fan, and George Harrison is my favorite Beatle. The mix of lyrics and guitar (seriously if you’re giving your song the title, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, you better make that guitar weep) is paramount, philosophical, heartfelt and down right impactful. Looking at the world turning as love sleeps and that guitar, that guitar sends waves through your bones. Magnificent!!!

In addition to the above my playlist included a lot of 70’s and 80’s love songs, really anything that would remind me of my wife.

*******************************

I’m currently writing book four in the series, The Rose. It’s a dystopian sci-fi set at the tail end of World War III. The rose is a meditation used by alchemists. Alchemy is the ability to transform chemical structures. Also a useful tool when battling alien vampires. The Rose is a prelude to a trilogy titled The Indigo Trials which will be released next year. After The Rose, I’ll be writing book four in this series, about a 1940’s New York socialite whose sculpture comes to life after a break up with the love of her life. Think Frankenstein meets My Fair Lady. Title is Golem, a psychological supernatural thriller. I have nine books planned in the Beyond the Chamber Door Series.

Presenting the Marriage of Kelli-Anne & Gerry Denemer

The Denemer's had it all: Fame, fortune, family, and the American Dream. But tough times have landed on their doorstep— Gerri's acting career is mired in controversy, financial decline is strangling the family bond, and his marriage to Kelli Anne is on the rocks. He'd rather die than face another catastrophe, something the Devil is more than eager to assist. On the night Gerri attempts to end his suffering, his plan is thwarted by a voice in his smart TV, pulling him into a dimension where past, present, and future collide, and the fate of the human race hangs in the balance. But Gerri is not alone. The Devil's minions are nipping at his heels and Kelli is right behind them, determined to save her family and put right what has gone wrong. Will they be successful? Is the bond between husband and wife strong enough to defeat evil? Will they prevent World War III or will evil's plan triumph? Presenting the Marriage of Kelli Anne and Gerri Denemer: A Horror Story, is a tour de force thriller of dark fiction, romance, and horror in an epic battle between good and evil.

Read an excerpt:
He ran to the house, struggling through the wind that sought to push him over, to deter him from entering that house.

“No, Gerri,” the chaperone hollered. “Do NOT go in there!”

But Gerri quickened his pace.

The chaperone was in front of him.

He turned to go around him.

The chaperone was in front of him.

He jerked to the left, running at max speed.

The chaperone was in front of him, pushed Gerri to the ground. Picked him up and clasped Gerri’s shoulders with an iron hand.

“It’s not allowed, Gerri.”

“What’re you talking about? I just want to go home.”

The chaperone laughed. He started pacing, circling Gerri with his hand on Gerri’s shoulder.

“What do you think, Gerri, hang yourself and you get to go back home? No, no, no, Gerri. Look around you. You’re not even close to home!”

“What? That can’t be!”

“Between worlds, Gerri! That’s where you are. What’s in that house is nothing. Nothing more than the slither of energy you left, the portal of death with the stink of fear. You’re not welcome there. Not welcome at all.” He slipped his hand off Geri’s shoulder. Stepped an arm’s length away from him.

“No, no, no, this can’t be! This can’t be.”

“Oh, yes, Gerri, it can, and it is.”

The chaperone paused.

“It’s best that you come with me Gerri.”

Gerri screamed, “Where did I go wrong?”

The chaperone stiffened.

He turned to the house and paused.

Becky Monson, author of 'Speak Now, Or Forever Hold Your Peace' shares her playlist

speaknow banner

My Playlist

Before I became an author, I wanted to become a famous singer. It was my dream. Me and Jordan from New Kids on The Block were going to get married and tour together and have babies that grew up on the road with their musical parents. It was so meant to be.

It wasn’t until around the age of twenty six—after a very small jaunt with a record label and an album—that I realized, it wasn’t going to happen. I wasn’t devastated. It was a long and somewhat tiring journey to get to that point, and so it was not that hard to walk away from it all.

Music is and always will be a part of my life. These days I sing concerts for my children as they plug their ears and ask me to stop. They’ll warm up to me … someday.

So when asked if I listen to music while I write, the answer is a big, resounding, DUH! Of course I do. It’s like the joining up of two things I love dearly. I make playlists for all my books. Sometimes they go along with the story, sometimes I just like the tone of a song and it gives me all the feels when I’m writing.

I thought I might share one of my playlists for Speak Now (there were a few playlists for this book). This one is called “Ian & Bridgette”:

  • Little Things – One Direction (Don’t judge me, I love me some boy bands.)
  • Not a Bad Thing – Justin Timberlake (He used to be part of a boy band.)
  • Chandelier (Piano Version) – Sia (Download this version immediately. It’s amazing.)
  • One Last Time – Ariana Grande (I’m totally being judged for my love of pop music, aren’t I…)
  • Night Changes – One Direction (Yep. More boy bands.)
  • The Heart Wants What it Wants – Selena Gomez (Love the lyrics on this one.)
  • Mirrors – Justin Timberlake (This is by far my favorite song from him.
  • Still Into You – Paramore (Love these lyrics.)
  • How You Get the Girl – Taylor Swift (Can’t have a playlist without some T-Swift in it.)
  • Begin Again – Taylor Swift (The lyrics of this song are so poetic and really wonderful.)

And there you have it. If you haven’t read Speak Now, don’t read into these lyrics too much, or it might be a little spoiler-y. ;) I’m definitely inspired by the music I listen to.

(PS I won’t apologize for my love of music that should only be listened to by teenagers. Although, if asked in a public forum, I might lie.)

PrintIf there’s one thing that Bridgette Reynolds has learned recently, it’s that the perfect shoes, the perfect hair, and the perfect dress do not make for the perfect proposal. In fact, sometimes they make for the not-so-perfect breakup.

Now, Bridgette must do everything in her power to win Adam back. She knows they are meant to be. And nothing will stand in her way—not her friends, not her grandmother, not even the fact that Adam is now engaged to Serene after a whirlwind romance.

Focused on her plan to win Adam back, Bridgette isn’t expecting Ian—her college best friend, her love, her big regret—to come back into her life. They sink back into their comfortable friendship as if no time has passed at all, making Bridgette start to question her feelings for Adam. But Ian has a few secrets of his own . . . secrets that could shatter their friendship once and for all.

Bridgette has to make some major decisions—should she speak now? Or forever hold her peace?

Inspirational Music for 'Life and Death of Lily Drake'

When I am writing, I like to either be in total silence, or random music on in the background. My tastes vary and are unpredictable. I asked author T. Michelle Nelson what kind of playlist she had while working on her latest book The Life and Death of Lily Drake.

Music Playlists

I’ve had so many people ask what music I listen to when I write.  Many authors these days are putting playlists up on their websites of songs that served as inspiration as they worked on their novels.  I suppose I may be a bit weird, but I despise any noise while I’m working.  I’ve always hated any sound while I try to concentrate it makes me completely insane.

That being said, music does often serve as inspiration to me when I’m not actually typing on a manuscript.  A song might be playing in the car and I will immediately envision a character doing a certain action.  Maybe it’s a slow song and characters are dancing or falling in love.

For Life and Death of Lily Drake, there was plenty of music that inspired me.  I listened to a ton of Otis Redding and Etta James during that time.  Also some Nina Simone.  But not all of my book playlist music was oldies, I happen to love some Foo Fighters.  I find Dave Grohl’s lyrics to be incredibly inspiring.

If you’ve read my novel, you know the main character Lily is a bit of an 80’s hair band fan, so during many of her shenanigans I picture some Motley Crue, Guns n Roses or KISS playing in the background.  I won’t deny it, I’m a hair band girl too.

More about Lily Drake:

For Lily Drake, slaying vampires is easy...
Dating them is the hard part.
Lily Drake is your everyday hard-working single mom…until a gorgeous vampire shows up on her front door who she mistakenly assumes is her blind date for the evening. As one crazy scenario after another unfolds, Lily finds herself falling in love with two vampires, slaying the evil ones, and being prophesied as the savior of the entire undead race.
Deciding between pizza and Chinese take-out will no longer be one of the hard decisions facing Lily Drake once she is immersed into vampire society. Humanity or immortality? That doesn't hold a candle against this question - which of the two handsome vampire cousins?

The Life and Death of Lily Drake is not your typical vampire love story. It’s a tale about the humorous mistakes a woman makes simply trying to survive not only life, but the dating scene.  How will Lily manage working full-time, taking care of her young son and fighting the undead at every turn?

Lily will have to figure it out, but who better to save the world than a mom?

Biography

Born in Massachusetts in 1986, Nathan Squiers (The Literary Dark Prince) grew up in Andover, where his affinity for story-telling flourished due to a love of books and movies as well as an overactive imagination. At the age of 13, Nathan and his mother moved to Upstate New York to be closer to their family.

After surviving public school, where he spent most of his days locked away in the AV room watching old 80s movies on Laserdisc and planning out his next video project, Nathan began a shaky college career. A love of weaving tales and telling stories was motivation enough to pursue an education in English, and, as luck would have it, a series of phenomenal professors were available to get him pointed in the right direction. It was in his first years of college that Nathan began to actively pursue a writing career, starting his first literary journey with a piece that would later become "Noir", the first book of the Crimson Shadow series.

Like any good story, a chaotic turn of events brought Nathan from the very brink of insanity and loneliness to the warm, comforting embrace of Megan, his best friend, lover, kindred spirit, and--more often than not--personal handler. It was with Megan at his side that Nathan was able to continue his writing (sometimes solely motivated by the young lady's threats of dismemberment if he tried to stop). With Megan's help, Nathan was able to see Death Metal, his fourth manuscript, through the publication process.

Nearly ten years later, The Literary Dark Prince continues to invent stories and put them into a literary sequence that he hopes will be somehow decipherable by other readers. As a lover of all things creative, he works in both novels, novellas, short stories, as well as comic book scripts (just don't ask him to draw something if you don't like stick figures and poorly-executed shapes).

If he's not submerged in the realm of fiction or burning out his retinas with horror movie marathons, Nathan is planning/getting a new piercing/tattoo or enjoying life with his lovely fiancé.
