Xander has led a life of luxury with a cushy job in the family business. After his father’s mysterious disappearance, Xander became CEO of the multi-million dollar, international enterprise and tries to prove himself to everyone, including himself.
Xander discovers encrypted files in his father’s hidden safe that detail his illicit activities. His father was more than disreputable—he was a member of a secret and diabolical organization whose sole objective is world domination. In the files are plans for the Berlin Device—a satellite weapons system that has the potential for unparalleled destruction.
Chloe has scrimped and saved for an amazing hiking vacation. When nothing goes right in her travels, fate intervenes and she and Xander are thrown together in a hopeless quest across Europe to recover the device before more innocent people die.
Dodging bullets, bombs, and barbaric henchmen, Xander and Chloe discover a mysterious facility that could become their final resting place…if their enemies have their way.
Can they escape with their lives?
More importantly, can they save the planet from The Berlin Device?
Read an excerpt:
Xander took a tentative step closer to the taxi. Simon pulled a lighter from his pants pocket, ignited the flame, and held it next to the fuse. He sneered again and growled, “I told you to stay back! I will light this up, and after what I did to you in Paris, you should know I mean what I say!”
Sam leaned out the taxi window and called to Xander. “He’ll do it, Xander. Little brother here is somewhat unbalanced, if I do say so myself. He also seems to have a propensity for fire,” he looked squarely at Xander, “but I don’t need to tell you that.” Sam shook his head in mock sympathy. “Sadly, he had no proper upbringing.” Sam looked over at Simon. “Get in the taxi, Simon. Xander won’t risk other people’s lives. As you said before, he’s a pussy.”
Xander looked around helplessly. There were hundreds of people in the square. He focused on a nearby group of mothers, pushing babies in strollers. They were chatting animatedly, seemingly unaware of the danger around them. Xander quickly scanned the square, searching for a police officer.
As Simon climbed into the back passenger seat, the taxi driver jumped out and ran to cower in a nearby alley way. Sam quickly exited the back seat and got behind the wheel. Simon leaned out of the back window, continuing to hold the bomb and lighter threateningly as he watched Xander. Sam put the taxi in gear and accelerated quickly.
