Pride and Prejudice and Armored Hearts
Both Melissa Turner Lee and I are fans of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice as well as Downton Abbey. When reading our co-authored book, you’ll find hints of both in the story. In fact, the idea of a grumpy lead character winning the heart of his true love tends to find a thread in a few of our books. But with Gareth in Armored Hearts, it seems we kicked it up a knotch.
Because of his handicap and subsequent neglect from family members, Gareth could hardly have grown up to be a cheerful man. Luckily for him, he has the affection of one family member who bears his incredible secret with him. Then along comes Jessamine.
Jessamine is one of my favorite characters ever. She’s full of spunk and whit, and because she knows what she wants, she goes after it with relish. When she pursues Gareth to the point of his exhaustion, he learns more about himself than he’d ever known before. Armored Hearts is a romantic tale that weaves in both fae fantasy elements and steampunk, making it a favorite for people who enjoy both genres, or even historical fiction.
Armored Hearts
Tristan Gareth Smyth lived his entire life stuck at home at Waverly Park and left behind while his Grandfather makes trips to London, all because of his blasted wheelchair.
Then an American heiress falls in his lap, literally, and he must find a way to keep her at a distance to protect not only his secret, but everyone around him from an assassin sent to kill him.

Pauline Creeden
Pauline Creeden is a horse trainer from Virginia, but writing is her therapy. In her fiction, she creates worlds that are both familiar and strange, often pulling the veil between dimensions. She becomes the main character in each of her stories, and because she has ADD, she will get bored if she pretends to be one person for too long.Follow Pauline Creeden: Website | Facebook | Twitter
