Welcomed by the garden’s residents and now free of her symptoms, Syn decides to stay. But, before long, she realizes that this apparent utopia holds many dangers and dark secrets.
Surrounding the garden is a fog that Syn is warned never to enter. She encounters bizarre creatures that defy reason. And always lurking in the shadows is a masked woman - a woman who may have a connection to the disappearance of Syn’s parents many years ago. A woman whom no one will speak of, but whom everyone fears.
While No One Dies in the Garden of Syn, Syn will soon discover that some fates are worse than death.
Read an excerpt:
We charge out of the meeting room, but don’t get very far before Beth stops. “The sound of our splashing footsteps is going to give us away!”
“I’ll cause a distraction,” Lily offers.
“No, you should—”
Before any of us can object, she splashes off in the other direction, without turning back. I stare after my friend with a heavy heart.
“Keep going!” says Lundy.
We turn a corner and find ourselves in the path of two Creepers I remember seeing a few months ago. Snakes with human-like flesh slithering in the shallow sewer water. They leap into the air, one whizzing past my head and the other sinking its fangs into Lundy’s shoulder.
“Ahhh!” He grabs the snake with both hands and attempts to yank it off, but its fangs are buried deep in his flesh and it won’t let go. I grab its tail and pull with all my strength.
A sudden flash of intense pain in my arm has me staggering. The other snake has a vice-like grip on me. “Beth. Go,” I croak as my knees weaken.
“Not a chance.” Beth yanks the dart gun from her pocket, presses the muzzle against the snake and shoots. The snake relaxes its grip and it drops into the water at my feet. As my vision blurs, there is another thwip of the dart gun and another splash. Lundy collapses. I crumple into a heap next to him.
