He's one person throughout life you think about every so often, the one who leaves his unique indelible mark on you, the person with whom you need closure.
For Margaret Collins that person was Mike Taylor. After he broke her heart seventeen years ago, she left everything she knew and reinvented herself. With a new home, a new look and a new name, Riley Williams is now an up and coming journalist given the assignment to interview a Mike Taylor. She never suspected he would be her Mike Taylor. With Mike having no hint of Riley's true identity, she must decide if she will make him pay for sins he doesn't remember committing, or if she can wipe away the past and be with the one man who she has always wanted?
Holy hell, was this book hot! I often shy away a bit from reviewing hot books, but this one was worth it. We all have that one guy who got away. The one who still pops into our dreams and unconscious fantasies. The one we wanted to give it all to, but couldn't follow through. For some of us, we ended up better off in the end. Sometimes, though, we still can't help but wonder "What if?" I know I have one of those.
Not all of us will be fortunate enough to gain closure in the same way that Riley does. I know I won't, but it is still fun to imagine it. Ah, to be as courageous as she is.
The scorch level of this book is a whopping five out of five! Like I said, the heat is worth it. It's also a fast read. I can see myself reading this one again! And I need to check out some more of her work! Kim Carmichael has been long recommended to me. I'm glad I finally tried one of her books.
