Check out 'The Singer' by Roger Himes - A book with its own original soundtrack!

Blurb:

THE SINGER IS A VERY UNIQUE BOOK WITH A MUSIC SCORE!
By Roger Himes, lawyer, life coach, licensed counselor, composer and singer.

If you like books and music, the combined effect of this new publication is a '10.'

TYPE OF READING:
This is a fiction, romance, family novel that is packed full of emotion, but also hope and vision. "Even in betrayal we can find restoration and healing."

MUSIC PLUS THE WRITTEN WORD:
In addition to being a compelling story, the book also has 12 songs that blend perfectly with the story line of the book. The songs add emotional impact, meaning, and understanding. They enhance the story in ways only music can. Why the story is presented in this way is explained in the lines of a song:

"Music speaks louder than words
It's the only thing the whole world listens to
When you sing, people understand."

By means of links, you can LISTEN to Scott Bailey, the lead character sing the songs he has written. You can also read the lyrics in the book. In actuality, author Roger Himes composed and sings all 12 songs.

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE OF THOUGHT AND SOUND:
The story is entertaining, and contains a lot of humor. 'Humor helps smooth the bumps of life.' This real life drama, together with the music and humor creates a great experience. The combination is potent and is also very thought provoking. It has the power to impact and change lives for the better.

THE STORY IN A NUTSHELL:
At 40, Scott Bailey wants to get out of the rat-race business world. He reaches mid-life crisis and wants a positive life change. His desire is for a life that is more meaningful and purposeful. He and his wife Sharon (and their children Megan, Julie and Garvin) leave the big city for Wildwood, Colorado USA. Scott begins singing in a local nightclub and working on his music. But he falls into adultery with Christy, a young woman who comes in to listen to him sing. The story is about him, his family, and others working through this situation in very positive ways, -- as Christy also does.

FOR THE TEEN READER AS WELL AS ADULTS:
Even though the story is mainly focused on adults, a teen reader will find the story intriguing for two reasons. FIRST there is the music. Even though not rock music, it does add romance, emotion, and impact to the story. SECOND, Scott and Sharon's 15-year-old daughter Megan plays a major role in this drama. Her influence on her dad's life even before their move is positive. Plus, her feelings and impact on his adultery are significant.

FROM A SPIRITUAL PERSPECTIVE:
Part of the story has a biblical influence, especially in dealing with forgiveness, as Scott and Sharon separately work through life issues that they must deal with. Their talks with Pastor Lou are quite thoughtful and engaging.

FROM THE AUTHOR'S PERSPECTIVE:
Roger Himes is a life coach and licensed counselor, in addition to being a lawyer who has handled more divorces than he cares to remember. In these roles he has gleaned a unique perspective on the the emotional impact of the problems contained in this story. The story leads to thinking about ways to live a more positive life in ourselves, as well as for others.
